It has a clear and brilliant ruby red color, the intensity of which fades into garnet as it ages. The scent is intense and persistent, with aromas of wild berries, plum, cherry, and aromatic wood. The flavor is dry, warm, a little tannic, robust, harmonious and persistent.
Brunello di Montalcino must be served in crystal glasses with a large, rounded shape, in order to be able to grasp its composite and harmonious bouquet.
We recommend serving this wine at a temperature of around 18°C, and uncorking it a few hours before tasting to best oxygenate it and offer it in its total purity.
It preferably pairs with dishes based on red meat, furred and feathered game, possibly accompanied by mushrooms or truffles; and mature cheeses.
